How Do You Measure Success?

Everything we do at Sequent is driven from the belief that we can make a positive difference in people's lives. We believe that work, like life, should have meaning...that it should be fun and inspiring...that it should in some way contribute to the greater good...and that in our work, it is possible for us to experience the feeling of accomplishment.

Making a positive difference in people's lives can mean many things.
Performance reviews can have a positive influence in a person's life. However, we have found that communicating performance and/or personal development needs to another person is one of the most uncomfortable, and dreaded events of the workplace. Many have even suggested doing away with performance reviews altogether.

Hey, we get it! Why would anyone look forward to doing something (once every 6 or 12 months) that they aren't comfortable with? Sometimes it's because of a lack of information and other times, it's due to a lack of skills. (By the way, it's not just the people giving the reviews that are stressed about it. It's the people receiving the reviews too.) The amount of time it takes to prepare for performance reviews is significant. Hopefully, to be a positive experience, the review is not just a cut and paste process from previous years.

Consider this. What if we treated our financials the same way? How much time would it take to determine if you had a profitable year if you waited until the end of your fiscal year to run the numbers? How many negative trends could have been averted, or opportunities been seized, if the information would have been available monthly?

Let Sequent Help You Make a Positive Difference in Your Company Culture
At Sequent, we understand the challenges associated with communicating performance and/or personal development needs. We also understand the unrealized potential that exists just beyond the reach of many businesses because these challenges have not been dealt with effectively. Our consultants can help you take the fear out of communicating these issues. We can make a positive difference in your company culture and on your financial performance in the following ways:

  1. We can teach you skills that will help you approach conversations about performance and employee personal development opportunities with confidence, no matter what the circumstances.
  2. We can help you define what's really important so that when you have the conversations, they produce results.
  3. We can help you implement a process that will become as familiar as the weekly production meeting or the monthly budget review.
  4. We can help you automate the process in ways that make sense for your business size.
  5. We can help you implement the changes successfully and we will stay with you long enough to make them sustainable

Our proven methodologies come from years of experience
